Marketplace and buyer terms

Updated 24 August 2026. These Australian terms define BountyHunt's role, buyer responsibilities and the safeguards for services that are actually shown as available.

01

Who operates BountyHunt

BountyHunt is a product and customer-facing business name operated in Australia by A.C.N. 700 220 784 PTY LTD (ABN 77 700 220 784). BountyHunt is not a separate legal entity. Questions, complaints and legal notices may be sent to support@bountyhunt.com.au. The selected business—not BountyHunt—is the seller of goods or services in a competitive Claim unless the checkout expressly says otherwise.

02

The platform role

BountyHunt helps buyers describe an intended purchase, receive structured offers and choose a business. Unless expressly stated for a specific service, BountyHunt is not the seller of a merchant’s goods or services and does not become a party to the buyer’s sale contract with that business.

03

Who may use it

  • Buyers must be 18 or older and able to enter the intended purchase.
  • Account and Bounty information must be accurate, lawful and genuinely connected to an upcoming purchase.
  • Users must not create false demand, manipulate rewards, impersonate another person or test businesses without genuine intent.
04

Offers and choice

  • An offer is prepared independently by the named business and may have its own validity and conditions.
  • BountyHunt may verify specified facts but does not guarantee a business, product, price, availability, quality or outcome.
  • Coverage may not include the whole market. The cheapest price or largest reward never wins automatically.
  • A buyer may reject every offer unless a separate commitment was clearly agreed.
05

Competitive Claims and introduced transactions

In the competitive Bounty service, a pre-selection Claim shows the offer without the business's identity, contact details or source identifiers. After selection and before the buyer commits or pays, BountyHunt must disclose the selected business's verified identity and the applicable sale, fee and Reward terms. This Claim rule does not apply to standalone connected-shopping comparisons, where the retailer identity and tracked purchase link are shown with the result.

A buyer and business must not knowingly move a BountyHunt-introduced transaction outside the agreed route for the purpose of avoiding a platform fee that was clearly disclosed to and accepted by the business before its Claim, or avoiding a Reward included in the accepted Claim. This rule is limited to the same buyer and business completing the same or a substantially similar purchase within 180 days after BountyHunt first releases the selected parties' identity or contact details. If a business improperly identifies itself in a Claim, the period begins when the buyer first contacts that business using the prohibited Claim information.

The rule does not apply where dated records created before the relevant introduction show that the buyer was already a current customer of that business or had independently begun an enquiry with it for the same or a substantially similar purchase, without using BountyHunt information.

BountyHunt does not charge a buyer a circumvention fee, damages or any other financial penalty. This rule does not prevent a buyer from rejecting an offer, exercising Australian Consumer Law or another non-excludable statutory right, making a complaint, contacting a regulator or payment provider, or using another payment or communication route when reasonably necessary to exercise those rights. Any investigation, suspension or fee recovery under this rule is directed to the business under the Business Terms, not the buyer.

06

Connected shopping results

For an identifiable product, BountyHunt may compare listings supplied by approved retailer APIs or feeds. A comparison covers only the connected sources searched at the stated time; it is not a whole-market or guaranteed best-price search. Where the required fields are available, results use total delivered price, including the item, delivery, tax and unavoidable charges. Price, stock, condition, returns and checkout terms can change, so the buyer must confirm them with the retailer before purchasing.

BountyHunt may earn a disclosed referral or affiliate commission when a buyer follows a tracked link and completes a qualifying purchase. Commission eligibility or amount must not improve an ordinary result's ranking. Sponsored placement, if ever offered, must be separately labelled and must not be presented as an independent result. Any conditional post-purchase cashback is displayed separately from the price payable at checkout and is never deducted from the amount due at purchase.

07

Contact release

Personal contact details remain hidden from businesses until the buyer selects one, explicitly approves the data scope, and the current offer, business-verification, market and safety checks pass. Contact release must be recorded and limited to the selected purchase. A Reward is not prepaid as a condition of contact release, and releasing contact details does not make a Reward eligible.

08

Rewards and payments

Any optional Reward is governed by the separate Reward Rules. In the Australian transaction service, the buyer pays the selected business’s complete purchase price through its connected-business direct-charge checkout. A Reward is conditional post-purchase cashback offered by that business and, when eligible, submitted as a partial refund against that same purchase charge to its original payment method. It is not an upfront discount, BountyHunt wallet balance or separate cash payout. “Offered”, “approved”, “refund submitted” and “sent to the original payment method” describe different states and must not be conflated.

09

Prohibited activity and categories

The separate Prohibited and Restricted Purchases Policy is part of these terms. Firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives, illicit drugs, stolen or counterfeit goods and other platform-prohibited purchases are never allowed, even where an item might otherwise be lawful locally. Regulated categories remain unavailable unless the exact market has been approved.

No user may submit unlawful, deceptive, unsafe, discriminatory or rights-infringing content, or directly exchange passwords, identity documents, card details or bank credentials. BountyHunt may reject or privately hold a request, pause access, preserve limited evidence, and take legally required action, subject to appropriate reason and review rules.

10

Consumer rights and Australian law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right, guarantee, condition, warranty or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law. These terms are governed by the laws in force in South Australia and applicable Commonwealth law. That governing-law choice does not deprive a consumer of a mandatory protection or lawful external complaint route that applies to them.

11

Records, reporting and tax

BountyHunt and participating businesses may have record-keeping, tax and regulatory reporting duties. For service transactions facilitated through the platform, BountyHunt may collect and report seller and transaction information under the Australian Taxation Office's Sharing Economy Reporting Regime where required. A buyer remains responsible for their own tax position, and BountyHunt does not give personal tax advice.

12

Complaints and changes

Customers can use the published complaints process or email support@bountyhunt.com.au. Material changes require a new version and appropriate notice or renewed acceptance where required. These owner-adopted Australian documents do not approve a service in another country. A new country, regulated category, materially different funds flow or materially broader liability or introduced-transaction rule requires a fresh adoption record; targeted external advice may be obtained without being represented as a regulator or adviser certification of the service.
